Over the years the Annual Report has become for us a precious instrument for analysis, which allows us to monitor the progress made and, above all, devise future strategies. A journal which outlines the past, the present and the future of our Group, through precise indicators to measure the performance needed to reach pre-set targets.
A document that speaks of our economic, technological and organisational development, with an approach that has met with increasing appreciation from our stakeholders for the quality, credibility and transparency of our business plan.
In 2017 we started a process of rationalisation and simplification of our organisation to guarantee a process speed adequate to the performance that the market demands of us. The increase in complexity, together with the speed required by customers (time to market) and the need to continually speed up performance measurement, makes change in the way we do things inevitable. Also at organisational level, we are moving along the same lines as those of technological platforms development: we want to connect the people who operate in the different companies of the Group into a sort of “Internet of Companies”. The desire is not only to link things, but the people who take the decisions that allow us to dispense our services and enable us to sell our products with adequate technical and commercial support, synergically, throughout the world.
It is crucial to understand how the challenge is no longer the technology, but above all the ability to read, analyse and understand data to guide decisions, both at strategic and operational level, able to aid the planning and generation of new added value services. To reach this objective it is essential to advance in the field of technological innovation, of digitisation, of the provision of telematic and Big Data solutions, of the integration of platforms, so that people, means and goods can circulate more rapidly, in a shorter time, safely and economically, in the context of the new frontier commonly known as the “Internet of Things” (IoT).
The result of this is our starting point. We know that the next challenges will see us pursue “glocal” philosophy, that is to say think globally to act locally. An approach that allows us to take full advantage of the capacity of all the different brains in our Group to synergise and create value in each community and each market in observance of their specific features and potential.,
